Stillness 04:18
Stillness - Thing Mote The people want something from you Your eyes are wide open starring the void Reality shakes you while you are at home Apathetic to life Finally comes the night Breath slows down Eyes would close Fog covers everything how do you feel Time is still Humanity is a fake planning Be more productive and buy many things Your hands are so ready your mind is too clear Tight smile on your lips Take on all the tips Growth slows down Firms would close Leafs cover everything how do you feel Time is still Perhaps the people shows The things you're hiding from Stillness in the time Stillness in the mind Perhaps the nature falls But you still need a job Stillness on the trees Stillness in the fees But please don't take your stillness too much seriously So shake my hand proudly like the first time we met But please come down that tie is too tight-fitting So get your feet on the ground - and grab my hand... Like the first time we met Like the first time we met And please don't be so still And please don't be so still

Redroom 06:58
Redroom - Thing Mote Meet us, where the things were real Meet us, where the things were real A woman, a man, laying on a red sheet bed. Disarming power, from the creature before Bleak walls and body snow Black thoughts and honey moans Meet us, where the things were real Meet us, where the things were real The Treasure, the sin, savouring the white pure skin Recalling flowers, from the days of yore Bleak walls and body snow Black thoughts and honey moans Things were real Things were real Things were real Things were real That gaze without time Makes waver human mind Makes waver human mind "I want you" Whisper between the black walls. Crack the magnificent perfection Pushing ambitiously in lost regions Hardly bridling emotions Hardly bridling emotions Shot, rumbling between the red walls Brain blows out from the place Shiny tinkling corrosions Shiny tinkling corrosions Rain of electric buzzing flashes Gaze motionless and everlasting Lonely dreadful outstation Lonely dreadful outstation Meet us, where the things were real Meet us, where the things were real A human, some leds, laying on a red sheet bed. Black again Between the walls Bleak walls; body snow Black thoughts; human lost

Awake 05:53
Awake - Thing Mote "Part 1 - The night of the dying minds" I’ve lost my own key My brain connectivity You need a recharge It’s too late to let you down Am I led by myself? Are there other people here? You should focus on you It’s not easy to way out I don’t think I’m free I heard a noisy simphony You need a restart It’s hard to get out of here I’m fading away What is reality? You should take control There’s not time to take a break "Part 2 - Better safe than sorry " Actually I don’t know where I am. I don’t know where I've been. I don’t understand what is real and what is not. I’m on the run but I don’t know from who or from what. Those voices. Those damn voices. I can hear them. The screams. I can feel them. There they are. What is all this? I seek shelter. What’s happening? Better safe than sorry. Better safe than sorry. "Part 3 - Realize" The involution of species Humanity against nature Cain and Abel We’re all brothers Will we be forever bloodstained? Is this oblivion that I wanted? Is this oblivion that I wanted? Is this oblivion that I wanted? "Part 4 - Raise up" The sunset is gone. The dawn is born. Time to wake up, again. Time to raise up, again. The moon is up. The sun is dark. Take off your shoes, again. Take up the route again.

about

ENG
Robokiller is the first album of the italian band Thing Mote. After several EPs, the band decides to enclose its poetics in ten songs that follow a thin red line, a single common denominator.

This thread that keeps the songs anchored to each other is a reflection on the progressive loss of humanity, of the relationship that exists between man and technology today. We live in a society now focused on digital communication, each of us now has a real life and a virtual life, with the risk of no longer recognizing which is the real one. Technology therefore invades our daily lives, changing us deeply, even unconsciously. Attention, the album does not want to be a sort of Luddite manifesto, but rather, it wants to be a starting point for reflection, sometimes taking some situations to the extreme: Robokiller therefore represents a sort of musical "Black Mirror", obviously in a rock key.

Rock is the genre that Thing Mote has always used to express and experiment with their idea of music. A primary set in which to vary and move, while maintaining a clear idea of one's vision. Surely grunge and post-rock are two shades, two bases, present both in the history of Thing Mote and in the Robokiller album. The distorted guitars, the noise, the captivating riffs and the "full" rhythms of the drums generate a high impact sound carpet. Great emphasis and importance was also given to another instrument, often not considered such: the voice. The vocal melodies and harmonies, in fact, written and sung by the two singers Giuliano and Tommaso, blend perfectly both within the songs and in the head of the listener.

Everything was expertly packaged by the hands and mind of Jacopo Gobber, who was able to find the right amalgam to share the songs also from the point of view of sonority. The recording and production was in fact performed at the Flaming Studio in Verona, a studio founded and directed by Gobber himself.

The sounds are deep, at times gloomy and arouse sensations of shadows and lights, catapulting the listener into an almost cinematographic dimension, as if the song itself was a perfect combination of plot and soundtrack.

The songs do not always follow the classic pop / rock structure but rather, they experience new horizons, almost as if they were more songs within the same, always leaving the listener with the curiosity to find out what will happen next.

Some lyrics are simple but impactful, others more complex but almost poetic, all in order to best describe the concepts to be expressed both through words and through music.

In short, Robokiller is an album that lends itself to listening on several levels, both as regards the topics covered, the sound expressed and the structure of the songs.
